A Conversation with my hubby . . .
First of all, let me set the scene. We have a lot of these
and these
a couple of these
a bunch of these
and yep, even a few of these around our house.
It seems like every room we walk into there is a set of blocks strewn about with half constructed buildings and roads right in your path. So, the other day Aaron and I had a conversation that went something like this:
Aaron: "I've decided I'm throwing all the blocks in this house away."
Me: "Aaron you can't just throw toys away because you're tired of picking them up. Especially if the kids love playing with them."
Aaron: "Yes, I can . . . and I will." (he was obviously trying to establish some sort of authority here)
Me (deciding to take another approach): "Aaron, blocks are good developmentally for children of all ages."
Aaron: "Well, our children are developed enough, I'm throwing the blocks away."
That's why he's the newspaper editor and I'm the educator :0) (BTW, no blocks were harmed in the making of this blog post.)

Too funny. But, sorry, very typical of the "dad" in most families. HA!
