AMELIA'S NEAPOLITAN FLOWER ROOM
I finally have Amelia's room ready! I hope she loves it as much as I do! Although she will be less than two years old when she finally comes home from China, we decided to make the crib into a toddler bed, kind of like a day-bed. There's a good chance she wont be sleeping in it for a while because I plan to have her sleep in our room/bed for as long as she wants. This will promote bonding. Anyway, I've been dreaming about a little girl's room for a long time now. Thanks to inspiration from the "Decorate My Home Series" of my favorite craft blog, Make It Love It, this room is finally a reality! The only thing I didn't make was the sheet on the bed. It's amazing how $100 worth of fabric, $50 for paint, and around $30 for other random supplies can decorate a whole room! I should also put out the disclaimer that the actual room isn't quite so "pink". Unfortunately these pictures don't give the room true justice.

This is a pull-shade I sewed fabric on. Aaron made the valance out of wood and I attached batting and fabric to it with a staple gun. |

Aaron's mom is making a quilt with the same fabric, so I will probably hang that on the quilt rack and the name blanket I made will go on her bed. Love that nubby "popcorn" fleece! This is the comfiest blanket ever! |

I made the bed skirt by using the pieces of an old crib skirt as pattern pieces. The pillows were created with another "Make It Love It" tutorial! (can you tell I LOVE that blog)! |

I can't wait to fill this up with clips. Hopefully it's full in the next few months by the time she comes home. |

Yep, those fabric panels, the lamp, and the hair clip holder are "Make It Love It"! |
